스튜디오글루는 70년대 지어진 연희동의 3층 주택을 IT 회사 사옥으로 레노베이션하는 프로젝트의 리서치와 설계를 담당했습니다. 디자인에 들어가기 전, 실제 사용자가 될 클라이언트 회사의 직원들을 대상으로 사용자 조사를 진행했습니다. 출근해서 퇴근할 때까지 회의하고, 식사하고, 쉬는 회사에서의 일상에 대한 직원들의 니즈와 가치를 이해하는 것이 목표였습니다. 많은 직원들이 반복적으로 이야기 한 것 중 하나는 여러 명이 일하는 오픈된 사무실 공간에서는 특히 공적인 공간과 사적인 공간의 경계와 이를 위한 세련된 공간적 솔루션이 필요하다는 것이었습니다. 함께 식사를 할 수도 있지만 혼자서 편안하게 먹을 수도 있는 공간적 배려, 휴식이 필요할 땐 충분히 휴식할 수 있는 곳, 다양한 '구석'에 대한 니즈도 중요하게 대두되었습니다. 이러한 공간적 가치와 니즈들을 새 사옥의 개인 업무 공간, 회의실, 부엌, 라운지, 화장실, 그리고 테라스 등등의 공간디자인에 적극적으로 반영하였습니다. 50년 된 주택의 아름다운 디테일을 최대한 살리는 것에 신중을 기하는 것도 잊지 않으면서요.
Studio Glue took part in the renovation of a three-story 70's house to be turned into a new office for an IT company. Prior to designing, an extensive user research was carried out in order to identify working values shared by the employees. Many of them believed that to be a good working space, there needs be solutions to public/private spatial boundaries within the open space. Flexibility of enjoying eating together and comfortably alone, and resting fully when rest is needed were also found as critical factors in creating a good working space. Such values were reflected upon the designing of the space - working area, meeting rooms, kitchen, lounges, washrooms, and patios - while we endeavored to keep the beautiful features of the 50-year-old house as intact as possible.
